Un oportunidad para descubrir y comprometerse en el Los Angeles nocturno usando dispositivos móviles, información geográfica y creación audiovisual para contribuir a un mural mediatico comunitario generado por visitantes, comunidades, y participantes en Internet.

Esta noche de cultura explorara la historia y el arte de Los Angeles por medio de música en vivo, arte performatico, muestra de arte, y especialmente con la participación de los visitantes usando tecnologías móvil.

El evento celebra uno de los mas recientes “monumentos históricos culturales“ de Los Angeles, el Juncture Block Building. Las actividades ocurrirán allí mismo y en el nuevo Parque Estatal Histórico de Los Angeles (el Cornfield).

Además de disfrutar de la música y la muestra cultural, los visitantes podrán participar de un numero de “exploraciones urbanas” en el distrito histórico de la ciudad. Por medio de tecnología donada por Nokia y Cisco, software desarrollado por CENS y un sistema de computación cultural cívica creado por estudiantes de arte y medios de la UCLA, los participantes podrán compartir sus experiencias y crear mapas colaborativos de su ciudad.

  From the East, West, and South:
¥ Find your way to Union Station (800 N. Alameda)
¥ Head N on Alameda until it turns into N. Spring at the Chinatown Metro Station.
¥ Go past the Chinatown Metro Station (on the left).
¥ Go past the long open field on the left.
{ The new Los Angeles State Historic Park (LA-SHiP)}
¥ Little Water is the first building (triangular) on the left after the empty field. If you cross the bridge you have gone too far.
¥ Turn left on Baker Street. Baker Street is the first street on the left as you head north past the field.
¥ Note: THERE IS NO STREET SIGN on BAKER.
¥ The entrance to Chiparaki is on the Baker street side (other side of the triangle).
¥ Note: the building is not numbered on the Spring Street side
     

From the North:
¥ Find your way to the North Spring Street Bridge.
¥ North Spring starts at North Broadway just before crossing the LA River, in Lincoln Heights.
(North Broadway goes up and off to the right and North Spring continues straight toward downtown)
¥ Go over the bridge towards Downtown.
¥ Immediately over the bridge there is a street on the right. Do not turn here -
¥
continue to the end of the block and make a sharp ( diagonal) right turn. This is Baker Street.

 



SOME FREEWAY OPTIONS:
¥ From the 110 heading north:
Exit Chinatown (Hill street)
Take first left (College).
Go 2 blocks, turn left on Alameda / North Spring
(at the chinatown metro station)...
Head North as above

¥ From the 5 / 101 heading North:
On the 5 exit to the 101, downtown LA
Continue a mile or 2 or 3, Exit Vignes
Follow Vignes around to Alameda / North Spring
(at the chinatown metro station)
Turn Right and head North as above......

¥ From the 10 heading east:
Exit onto the 110 north past downtown LA
Stay to the right, 'exit' on the "5/10/101", about a mile
Exit Broadway, turn left onto Broadway,
Right onto Cesar Chavez,
Left onto Alameda. Head North as above...
